Are you a Québécois culture enthusiast? This history and nostalgia filled location is perfect for you! Campers at the Val-Jalbert Historical Village’s campground are right next to the beautiful historic village. At this open-air museum, they can visit several period wooden buildings, including a convent school, a post office and a general store. Visitors can even take a cable car ride! The campground is comprised of 190 campsites, many wooden lean to structures for tents as well as 15 mini-cottages. In the heart of the campground is a breathtaking natural waterfall, as beautiful during the day as during the night. But these are not its only features: campers have access to lengthy hiking and bike trails and can take a swim in the outside heated pool.

What makes this little corner of paradise stand out is its location: Mansonville, on the shores of the Missisquoi River. Therefore, all activities associated with this type of waterway are available, from fishing to swimming, or more physical activities like kayak or canoe excursions. Each summer, several events are organized on the grounds or in the village. Not only visitor favourites, like “Camper’s Halloween,” but also more creative events such as the Esprit de Potton Festival, a local celebration of the township’s artisans, agri-food businesses and talents. The festival also features musical performances, bingo, fireworks displays and activities for the kids.

Outaouais - Camping Haut-Des-Côtes

Located by the shores of magnificent Simon Lake at Chénéville near Gatineau, this campground is much loved by families. The owners are so confident that their clients will be happy, that they will reimburse the rental fee if you are not satisfied with the initial campsite. The sites are very large and campers can access 2 km of the lake and their three private beaches. You can fish for brook trout in the stocked lake. Further away, those who wish can wander the waters by row boat, pedalo or kayak. An ATV trail is also available for the enjoyment of teenagers and adults. Even the children are taken care of with a park designed to keep them entertained for hours.
